Spring is well on it’s way, which means the COMMON POWERUp19 Conference is fast approaching! This year’s conference is in Anaheim, CA from May 19th through 22nd. Additionally, there will be preconference sessions on May 18th. Take advantage of this great opportunity for AS/400 education!
Overview
This year’s conference features nearly 100 speakers presenting over 300 sessions covering at least 21 areas to help your company get the most from your investment in the AS/400 system and for you to advance your IT skills and career.
There’ll be sessions to enhance your technical skills, such as: Application Development; Database (DB2); High Availability Resilience; IT Leadership and Management; IT Strategy; Linux; Lotus Collaboration; Mobile and Modernization; Open Source Languages; RPG; Security; Systems Management; Virtualization; and Web Applications.
Additionally, there are courses to improve your “soft” skills, such as Client Connectivity, Developing Business Skills, and Networking. Participants may focus on a single area or participate in sessions from multiple areas, whichever option best fits your needs.

Certifications
Furthermore, the COMMON POWERUp19 Conference will also be offering participants the chance to take COMMON certification exams that will allow you to demonstrate to others your commitment to your IT development. These exams include: Associate AIX 7; Business Computing Associate; Business Computing Professional; Associate IBM i 7.1 Administrator; Certified Associate Application Developer – ILE RPG Programmer; and COMMON Certified Application Developer – ILE RPG on IBMi.

Silveredge was a sponsor and exhibitor at the 28th Annual Spring seminar sponsored by the Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professional Association (WMCPA). We enjoyed seeing so many of you at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI, March 12-14, 2013.
The WMCPA described the two-day event as the largest in the Midwest and featured more than 30 informative presentations on current topics to IBM i professionals. The bulk of the day was filled with educational sessions and hands on labs. Over 30 sessions across 2 days were conducted by industry experts and professional speakers.
WMCPA serves the Midwest business community of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota.

COMMON 2013 Annual Meeting and Exposition
Silveredge was a sponsor and exhibitor at Common’s Conference and Expo April 7-10, 2013 at the Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Ambrose Marton represented Silveredge, providing information regarding our current projects involving modernization, EDI, etc. Ambrose provided an Education Session – Skill Set Modernization or “Don’t be a Relic!”

Silveredge was a sponsor at the Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professional Association (WMCPA) 2012 Spring Technical Conference. It was held March 21-22 at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This IBM I Conference is well attended by companies from Minnesota, the greater Chicago area, Northern Illinois, and all of Wisconsin. It is a great venue to gain quality education sessions and meet other members and speakers from the IBM I Community at large. It was exciting to see so many of you and meet so many NEW STUDENTS as well as IBM i Customers.
Speakers for the 2012 Spring Conference include: Aaron Bartell, Larry Bolhuis, Bob Cozzi, Mike Pavlak, Jon Paris, Susan Gantner, and Alan Seiden. Steve Will and Pete Massiello will each be doing a Keynote.
