AS/400 Education: Fall COMMON Conference 2017 and Silveredge Consulting

August 18th, 2017

It’s hard to believe that fall is almost here. In addition to your fantasy team, there is also the 2017 Fall COMMON Conference to look forward to in St. Louis from October 2nd through October 4th (plus the preconference sessions that are available on October 1st).  This is an incredible opportunity for AS/400 education!

This year, the conference has 39 speakers presenting 100 sessions covering 15 courses of study to help your company leverage the investment in the system and for you to advance your IT career. The courses of study include sessions to enhance your technical skills, such as Application Development, Database (DB2), IT Open Source Languages, IT Strategy, Mobile and Modernization, Security, Systems Management, Web Applications, and RPG IV.  Additionally, there are courses of study to improve your “soft” skills, such as Client Relations, Developing Business Skills, and Networking.  Participants are welcome to focus on one course of study or to participate in sessions from multiple areas, whichever options fit your needs best.

COMMON is expecting another sold-out expo as well! This will give you an outstanding networking opportunity to meet with IBM i vendors, including Silveredge.  The Silveredge Executive Committee will be there, including Sue Boers, President and Ambrose Marton, Vice President. Don’t forget to stop by our booth to say hello, register for our raffle, and let us know where we can help.  Chances are – we’ve done that!

The fall COMMON conference will also be offering participants the chance to take COMMON certification exams that will allow you to demonstrate to others your commitment to your IT development. These exams include:  Associate AIX 7 Administrator, Business Computing Associate, Business Computing Professional, Associate IBM1 7.1 Administrator, Certified Associate Application Developer – ILE RPG Programmer; and COMMON Certified Application Developer – ILE RPG on IBMi.
